Pt. Bhagwat Dayal Sharma Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (PGIMS), Rohtak, traces its origins to 1960, when the institution began as Medical College, Rohtak. Students initially studied at Medical College, Patiala, before moving to Rohtak in 1963. The college was renamed Pt. B.D. Sharma Medical College in 1994 and upgraded to a postgraduate institute in 1995. It is a major medical education and tertiary-care centre in Haryana, providing clinical services and training across medical disciplines.
