About Andhra Medical College, Visakhapatnam
Andhra Medical College is a historic government medical institution in Visakhapatnam. The recorded history of medical education in the city goes back to 1902, while the medical college formally began operations as Medical College, Vizagapatnam, on 1 July 1923. The college is affiliated with Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences and provides MBBS and postgraduate medical education. King George Hospital and other associated clinical facilities provide students with practical exposure to patient care and clinical specialties. The MBBS programme includes academic study followed by compulsory internship according to the prescribed curriculum. The institution has developed a broad range of medical and surgical departments and continues to support medical education, healthcare delivery and medical research.
