Lady Hardinge Medical College, New Delhi

Lady Hardinge Medical College is a government medical institution in New Delhi, established to expand opportunities for women in medical education. Its foundation stone was laid on 17 March 1914, and the college and hospital were formally opened on 17 February 1916. The institution has been affiliated with the University of Delhi since 1950 and is administered under the Government of India’s health ministry. It offers undergraduate MBBS education, postgraduate medical programmes, super-specialty training, and nursing education. Clinical training is supported by its associated hospitals: Smt. Sucheta Kriplani Hospital and Kalawati Saran Children’s Hospital. These hospitals provide clinical learning opportunities across medical and surgical specialties, including paediatric care. The college also undertakes medical and community-based research, alongside teaching and healthcare services.
