About AIIMS, Madurai Tamil Nadu
AIIMS Madurai was formally established by a Government of India gazette notification on 3 July 2020. It is part of the AIIMS system of autonomous public medical institutions and was established to improve access to tertiary healthcare and medical education. Its academic activities began in 2022, and the institute's official website lists MBBS education and medical research activity.
